Hi Members, Demolition is now complete on the southern part of the building and preparatory work has started on the new building. As the restaurant is closed for the next year we have increased the variety of meals in the bar so a good sized meal can be obtained there. With the pending retirement of the General Manager I can advise that Stuart Geddes has been appointed to the position effective of 21 December and he is now working with us. I remind members that we put out a regular newsletter of upcoming events and if you wish to receive this please advise your email address to the Club office. Our bottle store has been awarded the national Shop of the Year award by the Liquor Centre franchise and our congratulations go to Karyn and her team for their great work in winning this award. The bottle store carries a wide stock with competitive prices and regular specials while members receive 2% loyalty points on all purchases. Committee Members are always happy to hear your concerns or ideas so please approach them when you see them around the Club. The entertainment programme continues and we continue to have free pool games for any members and guests on Sundays. We have light beer and a low carb beer on tap and we also have a wide range of soft drinks available. We have 18 popular games machines including 3 new games and a 4 level downloading jackpot offering a wide variety of entertainment in our gaming room plus we have TAB facilities. For those interested pool, snooker, outdoor bowls, and petanque are all available as section activities at present while the cards, wine, golf, orchestra, garden and tai chi sections continue through the year. The male choir and dancing also continue and the Fishing and Hunting, Racing and Travel Sections are continuing trips. Contacts for all these sections are available on the club noticeboards. Remember that our prices are competitive and all our profits go back into improving club facilities. The loyalty system operates in the bars and bottlestore and as an example reduces the price of a jug of beer by 23 cents. Members should also take this into account when comparing our prices with other liquor outlets. If you have any queries or concerns please feel free to approach me or any Committee member who are listed in the Latest News part of this site. Murray Campbell President |
