BILLIARDS & SNOOKER  

The Club has four billiard tables and is the strongest Ashburton club in facilities and membership numbers. Both Billiards and Snooker are played.

PETANQUE  

The Club's petanque section plays at 115 Racecourse Road every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 1.30pm and Wednesdays at 6pm.  Please contact Rosemary McLaughlin on 3077250 or Marion Harrison on 3022733. Everyone welcome. 

 


 

 


FISHING  

The Fishing and Hunting section is  one of the strongest in terms of members and numbers of events. These are held nearly every week and include deep sea fishing, surfcasting, diving, river and lake fishing, hunting full and smallbore shooting. In addition, guest speakers and demonstrations are also featured

The section has a range of trophies for these events which are displayed in the Club trophy cabinets in the hallway.  Our present annual subscription is $10 and the Annual General Meeting is held in October each year.

INDOOR BOWLS  

The Indoor Bowls section has the best floor quality of any facility in Ashburton. Bowls is played right through the period of March to October and the Club takes part in local and provincial events and many national events. The mats are available for all members and guests to use at any time

POOL  

The Club has three pool tables and a strong membership of its Pool Section who regularly compete in the Canterbury pool competitions. Games can be played at a rate of only 50 cents for 15 minutes play and tables are available to all members and guests

OUTDOOR BOWLS  

The Club has its own bowling green and other facilities situated on Racecourse Road only three kilometres from the main Club building. This is widely regarded as the best green in Mid Canterbury and hosts many important events including the Clubs own tournament at the end of the season. Any member may play on the green at any time and it is hoped further expansion will take place in the future

WINE CLUB  

In conjunction with its bottle store the Club has an active Wine Club holding monthly meetings and tastings and periodic visits to wineries etc. Discounts are also offered to members of the wine club on a selected vintage each month. Please contact the Bottle Store for further information

GOLF  

The Section has regular events internally and with other clubs and regularly enters teams in both the mens and womens South Island Chartered Clubs events.

OTHER SECTIONS  

The Club also has other sections involved as follows: Gardening, Travel, Basketball, Racing, Orchestra, Quoits, Cricket, Golden Oldies Rugby, Tai Chi,  Dance,  Male Choir and Cards. Further information on these can be obtained by telephoning the Club
